Let’s pretend…
Let’s pretend, just for a moment, we’re Danny Ainge. We have to “save” the Celtics, a program nobody has fulfilled in the recent years. Neither did the real Ainge, anyway. So, the task is a difficult one. How would we act?

First thing I would do, is take a telephone and make a call to Moscow - Ettore Messina holding the phone there. I need a strong coach, young enough and willing to prove himself in new challenges. I want on my bench the best of Europe, so I’ll call either Messina or Obradovic. Both are winning persons. I don’t want an american coach, I’m planning a new approach. Messina has a total approach to basketball, so he will be my choice. If he wins the Euroleague with CSKA, maybe he will consider new proposals - otherwise, I think he’ll try again with the Red Army in Europe.
Second thing I’ll do, is take a look at the list of future free-agents. Here we can find one, for example. I’m not satisfied with the actual roster. My front-court is… uff.. silly. I want real PFs and centers, not Blount or Perkins… (maybe Przybilla?)
Third, I’ll sell/trade everybody for Kobe. Can you imagine a three-times Lakers‘ champion playing for Boston? He’s the only one which can save the tradition. He has the right mind.
Three moves. What would you do?
the guys at nbadraft suppose that in the next two drafts (2006 and 07) boston would select six pf/c…
